No — that is what it is engineered around. MATTE measures 80 gloss at 60° against 96 for the gloss films, a satin reading that preserves a factory matte finish instead of adding shine to it. It carries the same self-healing, non-yellowing and water-beading behaviour as the gloss range, so matte paint gets the same protection without the look being altered.
Better than anything else in the range: 500% elongation on ASTM D412, the highest BodyGard figure, with 4,500 psi tensile strength behind it. That combination is unusual — most films give up strength to gain stretch — and it makes MATTE a practical choice for panels with deep curves where a stiffer film would lift at the edges.
